Three Months

Three months already?! Really? Time with this little one is flying by!

As tough as it is that he's getting so big and growing by leaps and bounds, he is at such fun age right now. He's puffy and fluffy and smooshy with giant muffin cheeks and saliva bubbles; his roly poly thunder thighs get bigger by the day; the little folds on his fingers, ankles, arms and wrists are buttery soft and delicious-- how I love this chunkamunk!

And predictability should not go hand in hand with babies but this guy has broken some records to be sure. He goes to bed around 9pm on the dot and sleeps all the way through to morning. We are getting better with the food intake and now after 1 breastmilk sandwich he can go back to sleep for another spit-up free couple hours, wake up and have his morning BM, play and then nap a few more times with many meals along the way.

Like I said, he's growing so much and is already over 15 pounds-- 90th percentile for weight! This boy loves his milk and people laugh when they spend time with us because he is quite simply ALWAYS eating! And something that he loves to do is drip or spit up milk on his face and then rub his hand in it and suck on his hand. He also stops breastfeeding sometimes to bust out a belly laugh or grin. Milk is just delightful as far as he's concerned. Sometimes at night I peek in to see him smiling and I'm pretty sure he's dreaming about golden sweet breastmilk.

He also loves to play the "pull up" game which is a favorite of babies but Jasper repeats this over and over where he grabs fingers to pull up and stand on our laps to look around. His little face grins when he gets up there and for the first time you can actually see a neck from under all of the chins.

I love watching him together with his big brother and cherishing the moments of acknowledgment from Jasper that Will is something special to behold. That boy loves his big brother already and will "talk" to him while flashing his pink gums. Will likes to turn on the music and dance for him or show him his toys (Will's toys--that is) and explain to him how something works or what he is trying to do with it. Will is busy, loud and fast about everything and Jasper can hardly contain his excitement when he's around.

All in all, Jasper is sunny and sweet as ever. He drools a lot, naps a lot, smiles a lot, and generally doesn't make a fuss about a thing. Oh, squishy little man, happy 3 months.
