Will had a very exciting event happen last month. We were eating dinner and he discovered that his tooth was loose. It was actually quite amazingly loose and his first instinct: he sobbed. His first questions: Will I get another tooth? Will there be blood?
So that night we read some books about teeth and all their parts and why they come out, etc. Then we had a great book about lost tooth traditions around the world and Will decided what tradition he would like to follow when he loses his tooth. His Type A mom has been collecting tooth boxes since before he was born so we took those out and he chose what he wanted to store his tooth in. His choice was to do the old standard "Tooth Fairy" tradition.
Sure enough that night the tooth fell out! The following morning he discovered that the tooth fairy leaves Canadian money!
The following day we were shocked to discover that the tooth beside his new gap was extremely loose as well and he lost that too. This time he chose to have "El Ratoncito" (little rat) come to visit him, take his tooth and leave him candy. This was a little tricky for "El Ratoncito" since he was working late that night and had to rush off to the all night gas station at 10pm when it was revealed by Will's mother that we were in need of candy.
