Playdate with Jasmine

Today Will had his former classmate Jasmine over to play. She's never been to our house before so when we pulled up to the house I said, "Will, show Jasmine where you live." I said this because I parked a bit down the hill and we had to walk to our house. I meant for Will to just show her where our house is up the hill. But when we got inside Will called out, "C'mon Jasmine, let me show you where I live!" He brought her to our big United States map and he said, "Now here is the United States and here is Washington State. See this little tiny dot here? Well, this is where I live in Seattle. Where do you live?" Jasmine thought for a minute and said, "I live at my house."

They also had a couple of other funny discussions. Jasmine asked if Will had juice at his house. Will said that he did not have juice, only milk or water. Later she spied my iced tea in the fridge and said excitedly, "Will, look, you have juice!" He said, "No, that is just my mom's iced tea." Even now, days after Jasmine's visit, Will keeps telling me that we need to get some juice for Jasmine because she really likes to have juice to drink.

I was also laughing a bit at their "stories". They each brought a book in the car to read to themselves while I was driving. This was their idea. I could overhear them both make up the stories that go along with the book. Jasmine, who has two older sisters, had a story that went like this, "Okay mom, we'll stop fighting..." Will's story went like this, "And then the daddy..."

Their main activities today were making pancakes out of clay, brushing hair and putting in hair accessories at the mirror, playing with the cat (who Jasmine very confidently tells us is a girl), and making a puzzle on the floor.

Working together on clay.

Having a snack... spreading jam and almond butter on heart shaped bread.

Wiping off their table after snack. Will was drying and Jasmine was wiping with a sponge.
