Jasper has few words but he can say "hoo hoo" which means owl. Whether I subconsciously steered him or not, it does warm my heart when he specifically requests (sometimes even demands) his "hoo hoo" shirt or when he shoots dagger eyes at his brother while clutching his book and saying, "my hoo hoo book!"
And no one would be surprised by my sheer joy when Will announced that he was doing a research report on owls. Oh, such a wonderful topic! We have already visited the three owls that are on display at the zoo. We have oodles of books from my personal library and from the public library and each night we read facts about owls, admire their pictures, and listen to their calls.
Things to take note of in the photos above: For one, the erasers. I wonder if there is a phase that hits the seven year old child where they are obsessed with pencils and erasers? We are in it and there are pencils and erasers ALL over the house. Secondly, notice Will's Post It in the corner of the page with the abbreviation "QT" for "cute".
