The Big Pour

You might remember "The Big Dig" where Paul and Will singlehandedly removed 99,000 pounds of dirt from our basement. Wheelbarrow by wheelbarrow, they filled the Handy Andy dumptruck up for several weekends this past year with dirt so heavy and packed it took a crowbar to break it up from under the house.

It seems to me that just as much time has been spent to build the concrete forms and fill with over 22,000 pounds (11 tons!) of concrete to make the foundation walls. Last night was Paul's last time with those foundation walls and while he still needs to pour the floor among other things, surely he is relieved to be finished with the seemingly endless mixing, pouring and vibrating!
