Icicle River Hike

This was a lovely hike along the Icicle River in Leavenworth.  The boys enjoyed collecting rocks and peering over the bridge into the rapids.

Haircut

Seems shocking to me that Will, at almost 8 years old, finally decided to cut his own hair.  He has had scissors available to him since he was 1 years old and sure enough, seven years later he experiments with cutting his own hair.  And he did an amazing job of it-- taking quite a large chunk out of his recent summer haircut.

Ferry to Bainbridge

We took the ferry to Bainbridge today for some fun exploring their little marketplace and Children's Museum.  We rode the ferry with 85 other children on a field trip to play at a park.

I Found a Worm!

Splish Splash

One of our first spray park trips of the summer!  Yeah!

Touch a Truck Day

Watching the crane in awe from the skidster
Oh, a toddler's dream to walk around a parking lot full of trucks... backhoes, cranes, bookmobile, city bus, skidster, ambulance, firetruck, police car, etc.  All for touching and sitting inside of.  Jasper LOVED it!

Beach Buddies

I can't believe that school is out in just three days!  Here is Will with one of his buddies from school on a playdate at the beach!  Will is so sad to have school end.  He said to me in the car today that he doesn't really like weekends and would prefer to have school seven days a week!

A few other very funny things he has said to me lately are:

1.  So, Christians believe in only one God, right?  Well, I believe in a lot of Gods and I think I'm going to be an Egyptian because I would like to live on in the afterlife and get to see all the pharoahs.  Would you be willing to mummify me mom?  I know it is gross but I would do it for you because then you would live forever.

2.  I'm a very good whistler.  Do you think that if I can continue being a very good whistler that I could join a whistle orchestra when I get older?  When you do whistle orchestras is there a conductor with a baton who leads you in the music or do you just have to do it by yourself?

3.  I want to be a crane operator when I grow up-- for sure!  Think about how wonderful it would be to climb into the sky on such a tall ladder every single day!

A few funny Jasper antics:

1.  We discovered that he has been eating Will's lunch that we leave sitting by the front door while the rest of us are getting dressed, making beds, etc.

2.  He regularly steals food from his brother at mealtimes or switches plates when his brother isn't looking.

3.  Finally at 2 years old he says the word, "Milk".  Isn't that odd?  Milk is often the first word that children say because it is their sustenance.  Jasper said, "Cocoa" about a year ago and uses it to describe any milk type beverage.  But no joke, a few days ago he uttered the first, "Milk" I've ever heard from him!  How could it take him this long to say it!

4.
