Amelia's Halloween Bash!
Will and Chloe can't keep their eyes off the pirate ship cake!
Amelia's birthday is on Halloween so it is an annual costume event to look forward to. This year George was a kangaroo, Devon was a chicken, Amelia was a pirate, Will was a giraffe, Chloe was a spider, Aiofe was a princess, Keenan was a puppy, ...I wish I could remember them all!
Nalia and Erika Visit
Erika and Nalia came into town this week and we were able to get the kids together. Born just about a year apart, they got along wonderfully. Nalia, as the elder, taught Will all kinds of new things (like swinging from the curtains and jumping on the bed) but she also inspired him to bury his body in the sand which I don't think he would have done otherwise.
100 for $1,000 Campaign

Our friends Silje, Pete, and Evan put together this incredible play park at their house as a fundraiser for the Seattle Midwifery School. Our fund initiative was to find 100 people who would be willing to do small private events to raise $1,000.
Japanese Garden
Will and I had so much fun exploring the many different bridges, paths and walkways of the Japanese Garden. The highlight for Will these days is usually the gravel. It was all I could do to entice him past the gravel at the entrance to explore the rest of the garden!
Pigs, Pigs and More Pigs
This is one of our favorite farms to visit which is a sanctuary for all kinds of pigs and other animals--young, old or disabled.
Train Birthday Party
Faith invited Will to her Train Birthday Party complete with a delicious raw blackberry pecan coconut crust tart!
Filming NAMTA Video
Sarah and James gratiously asked for Will to be Edison's friend in the new NAMTA video "Edison's Day". The video was an enormous undertaking for them but it turned out well and will be a valuable resource to many families using the Montessori philosophy at home.

Blueberry Farm
Here we are picking (and eating!) with Keenan and George. 
We picked a lot of blueberries this summer which are Will's favorite oatmeal accompaniment.
